How to Up your Game with Exercise Science

Up your Game with Exercise Science
Personal/Fitness Training Blog

Science is very specific. If you put two compounds together, you’ll get a certain reaction. However, if you change anything – be it ever so slightly – the result you’ll get will be totally different. This is sort-of true with exercise science. Yes, certain exercises will produce certain results but this may not be true for all people. Take a look.

Exercise Science is an Art

Everyone’s anatomy and physiology is more or less the same. For example, we all have a nervous system, cardiac system, etc. However, some people may have anatomical anomalies that may affect the way that they can exercise.

In a study – entitled Motor-function and exercise capacity in children with major anatomical congenital anomalies: an evaluation at 5 years of age by a team of medical experts – it was found that children with anatomical anomalies such as hernias, defects with their small intestines and abdomens were not able to exercise as children without such anomalies were.

Thus, it is up to the personal trainer to conduct thorough physical assessments with all of their clients in order to find out if they suffer from any anatomical or physiological syndromes that may prevent them from performing certain exercises so as not to cause them any harm.

Trifocus Fitness Academy’s Exercise Science Course will teach you how to perform assessments on your clients. Learning points include:

  • Test clients’ cardio-respiratory endurance using well-known measuring methods.
  • Test clients’ muscular fitness and flexibility using well-known measuring methods.
  • Assess the composition of your client’s body.

In Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Physiology and Anatomy go hand in hand

It’s all very well and good to know about how a person’s anatomy and physiology are made up. However, you need to know how these work together in order to allow a person to move and exercise. This is where biomechanics comes in.

According to the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, biomechanics is

” … the area of science concerned with the analysis of mechanics of human movement. In other words it is the science of explaining how and why the human body moves in the way that it does.”

Trifocus Fitness Academy’s Exercise Science Course will teach you all the ins and outs of biomechanics:

  • Learn how forces interact with the human body.
  • Unpack how muscles work.
  • Discover what planes of motions are.

Nutrition Plays a Fundamental Role in Exercise Science

You can have the best knowledge of biomechanics, physiology and anatomy however if you don’t have fundamental nutritional skills you’re wasting your time.

We, at Trifocus Fitness Academy, know this which is why – on our Exercise Science Course – we teach:

  • Advise your clients on how to enhance their performance with nutrition.
  • Identify and correct people’s misconceptions about nutrition.
  • Read and interpret food labels.
